This Is The First Ever Video Uploaded To YouTube

More than 300 hours of videos are uploaded to the social network YouTube every minute. YouTube is a very popular social media, especially among young people, but YouTube was launched only 10 years ago on February 14, 2005, by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim.

 

To date, millions of videos have been stored on YouTube. Ever wonder, which of these videos is the first to be uploaded to YouTube?

 

"Me at the Zoo" is the first ever video uploaded to YouTube. This video was uploaded on Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 8:31:52 pm (PDT). In the video, a young man can be seen watching elephants at the zoo. 

 

 

The person seen with the elephant is Javed Karim, co-creator of YouTube. The video was recorded by his schoolmate Yakov Lapitsky.

 

The young man who uploaded the 240p video was Javed Karim, co-creator of YouTube. YouTube was bought by Google in October 2006, for $1.65 billion.
