Many of us drink coca-cola when we are thirsty or feel hot. We feel good drinking CocaCola and it is found everywhere that we do not have to carry water or something else for thirst. So it is highly practiced. But do anyone of us knows the real use of Coca-Cola?
And are we aware of coca-cola and do we know its side effects? What is the real use of coca-cola? Have you ever wondered what exactly Coca-Cola or any other beverage is and what reactions they do?
Let us see its effects on humans on a time basis right after drinking coca-cola.
What Happens To Our Body After Drinking Coca-Cola:
After 10 minutes: The sugar (about 10 teaspoons based on your daily intake) contained in a glass of CocaCola can cause a highly destructive or damaging strike on our body. People won’t vomit immediately from a large amount of sweetness due to the presence of phosphoric acid in coke. Because phosphoric acid present in Coca-Cola prevents the action or process of sugar.
After 20 minutes: The blood sugar level in the body begins to spike which leads insulin to burst. Subsequently liver responds to this by turning a high amount of sugar into fat.
After 40 minutes: Consumption or Ingestion of caffeine (a crystalline compound which is especially found in coffee and tea plants and is also a stimulant of the central nervous system) is now finally completed. The eye’s pupils are now dilated or simply become wider, larger, or more open. Blood pressure level begins to rise up because the liver dumps more sugar into our bloodstream. The adenosine (a compound consisting of adenine combined with ribose, one of four nucleoside units in RNA) receptors present in our brain become obstructed thereby preventing fatigue or drowsiness.
After 45 minutes: The body increases the production of the dopamine hormone ( a neurotransmitter that stimulates the brain's pleasure and reward centers). Similar to the reaction Heroin creates.
After 1 hour: Phosphoric acid binds calcium, zinc, and magnesium in the lower intestine (gastrointestinal tract), which furthermore boosts or supercharges metabolism. The release of calcium takes place through urine.
After more than 1 hour: Now, the diuretic effects of the drink enter “the game”. It makes you have to pee anyway. The bonded calcium, magnesium, and zinc are excreted or removed from our body, which is an integral part of our bones, as well as sodium. At this time we can become annoyed or depressed. The total amount of water that was present in coke is now removed through urination.
While grabbing a can/bottle of Pepsi or Coke or any other beverages and enjoying its undeniable freshness are we aware of the chemicals “cocktail” we are putting into our bodies? Orthophosphoric acid is the main active ingredient used in Coca-Cola. Due to its high acidity, cisterns used for transporting the chemical have to be equipped with special reservoirs designed for highly corrosive materials.
